In SOLIDWORKS 2022, a new feature was added to the General User Interface that allows users to use colors in SOLIDWORKS exported sketches. This feature is particularly useful when creating presentation materials or when collaborating with others who may not have SOLIDWORKS installed on their machines.

To use colors in exported sketches in SOLIDWORKS 2022, follow these steps:

  1. Open the sketch you want to export with colors.
  2. Click on “File” from the menu bar and select “Save As” from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the “Save As” dialog box, select the file type you want to export to (e.g. PDF, DWG, DXF, etc.).
  4. Click on the “Options” button located in the lower left corner of the “Save As” dialog box.
  5. In the “Export Options” dialog box, check the box labeled “Export sketch entities using colors”.
  6. Click on “OK” to close the “Export Options” dialog box.
  7. Select the location you want to save the exported file to and click on the “Save” button.

Once the exported file is saved, the sketch entities will appear with the same colors as in the SOLIDWORKS sketch. This can be particularly useful when sharing sketches with others who may not be familiar with SOLIDWORKS or when creating presentation materials.
