SOLIDWORKS 2016 introduces the ability to rearrange stacked balloons manually. Individual balloons and flag notes can be dragged into and out of the stack, as well as manipulated into any position within the stack.

Also with one click you can rearrange a balloon stack to be organized numerically or alphabetically reducing the need for workarounds to get a drawing to look absolutely right.

Rearranging Stacked Balloons

To rearrange stacked balloons:

  1. Shift + click a balloon within the stack.
  2. With the balloon selected, move the pointer within the stack to see a preview of the new position within the stack.
  3. When the balloon is in the correct position, release the mouse button.

To add balloons or flags to an existing stack balloons:

  1. Shift + click a balloon.
  2. With the balloon selected, move the pointer within the stack to see a preview of the new position within the stack.
  3. When the balloon is in the correct position, release the mouse button.

Sorting Balloons

To sort your balloons:

  1. Right-click on the stacked balloons
  2. From the shortcut menu pick Sort Stack.
