Why Are My SOLIDWORKS Licenses Expiring? A Guide to License Reactivation

Starting from SOLIDWORKS 2022 and future versions, a small change has been introduced regarding perpetual licenses. You’ll need to reactivate your license once a year, within 30 days of the anniversary of your previous activation date or you will see your SOLIDWORKS licenses expiring. When the time comes SOLIDWORKS will notify you in advance, reminding you to perform the reactivation.

During startup, SOLIDWORKS will prompt users to reactivate their perpetual license before the required reactivation date, displaying a notification stating that SOLIDWORKS licenses will expire in XX days.SOLIDWORKS License Expiring Notification

This reactivation requirement applies to both Standalone and Network license-based versions of SOLIDWORKS Desktop. Even if client installations are from an earlier release, servers running SolidNetWork License Manager 2022 and beyond will still require reactivation once a year for network licenses.

For administrators, it’s crucial to stay on top of the expiration date. You can easily find this date on the confirmation page of the Product Activation Wizard. By knowing the exact date, you’ll be able to reactivate your licenses promptly, ensuring uninterrupted access to SOLIDWORKS for you and your team.
