The SOLIDWORKS for Startups Program is for early- to mid-stage hardware startups. Your company must meet the following acceptance criteria:

Designing and building a physical product with an aim to sell it in the market
Less than $1M in revenue
Not more than 5 years old

The program is not open to current SOLIDWORKS customers, service providers, engineering/design firms, consultants and contract manufacturers.

Enterprise Metadata Utility (EMU)

The TriMech Enterprise Metadata Utility, known as the EMU, allows PDM Administrators the ability to set up features to update and extract data from PDM and other systems such as ERP/MRP software via multiple methods from direct into a database to APIs. These operations can be done via workflow transitions, right mouse clicks, listening to a folder, or buttons on a data card; whatever fits your business needs.

The feature has several components to meet the client’s need. The Meta Data function is a way to take data card information and put it into a new item in another system, while Sync gives you a bi-directional communication between the SQL of PDM and another software. The BOM function allows PDM Bill of Materials (BOMs) to be exported in generic formats such as XML, CSV, and TXT files. You can choose to have them exported into one or many files, based on the needs of your system

- Ability to create multiple BOM views to send different BOMs to different organizations based on PDM BOMs
- Choose if you want full or indented structure and if you want “as built” or “latest versions” of components

Test out options locally without the PDM interface prior to pushing into vault

With the EMU feature inside the Power Suite Professional clients can share data between systems, reducing the time required by personnel to input data and reduce input errors. TriMech can also create scripts to adjust the functionality of the EMU to meet a client’s needs.

Migration Features

Support for basic SOLIDWORKS property/reference/revision issues is provided. Additionally, there is limited duplicate name/content clean-up included in the system's support.

Specific Migration Approach

The system is designed to migrate SOLIDWORKS Workgroup in an "as-is" fashion with limited clean-up, aligning with the desire for minimal data modification.

DMS Intermediate Level

The Intermediate-level system is designed to meet the more advanced needs of customers migrating data from Windows Explorer and/or SOLIDWORKS Workgroup who desire advanced data clean-up to ensure a solid starting point in the SOLIDWORKS PDM system.

Included Support

The system comes with 72 hours of mentoring/development time to be utilized for migration-related training, setup, validation, and development.

Customers who choose this system want the TriMech Service team to handle the migration process from start to finish, excluding customer-required validation.

SOLIDWORKS WorkGroup PDM Extraction service

TriMech’s SOLIDWORKS WorkGroup PDM Extraction service allows for vaulted data to be extracted. The files can then be placed in windows explorer folders. During the service we provide these options.

Extraction Path
- The root of the path to start extraction of project structure
- It is difficult to determine the amount of space required for this operation, be sure you have at least 8 times the free space available over the current vault size

- Specifies to ZIP the data that is extracted
- ZIP Clean up
  - Specifies to remove the folders after extraction

Phase 1: ANALYZE Your CAD Models

We will analyze your current model creation techniques and process to determine where changes need to be made to increase performance of your large assemblies.

The analysis we carry out includes a review of how your team creates large assemblies, and the typical composition of the models including: the number of components, the number and type of mates; the number of update holders, the type of in-context relations, the tessellation settings, current practices for feature creation and part model construction, imported geometry, plus many other factors.

Large assemblies can range from as little as 50 parts to several hundred, but if you are experiencing issues with your assemblies we will investigate!

A unique diagnostic tool to scan and assess the health of your data for transfer to a Data Management System.

The TriMech Data Doctor is a unique tool that allows the TriMech Services team to scan and asses the health of your data in Windows Explorer or SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM. With this tool, we can work with you to safely migrate your data into SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard, SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, SOLIDWORKS Manage and 3DEXPERIENCE.

How is Data Collected?

Your intellectual property is not collected*. We use the industry standard, in memory, MD5 hash algorithm to generate a unique digital footprint of your file content to evaluate duplication of the data. We do this for all file types.

* Note that any data that is collected is encrypted to protect it against misuse using a 128 bit AES encryption in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS).
