PDM Rename

The PDM Rename feature allows renaming of files stored in SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional based on a complex rename syntax scheme.

The ECx feature helps to simplify managing the Engineering Change process in SOLIDWORKS PDM. The highly customizable interface provides a user-friendly way to attach files to Engineering Change documents.

• Uses existing EC template

• Creation of reference table inside EC document (Wordtemplates only)
• Customizable file search dialogue

PDM Property

The TriMech PDM Property feature allows users to change the variable values that are currently stored in your PDM Professional database.

Special Features:

• Ability to change a variable value on any file type in the vault
• Value stored on the data card
• Select variables you want to be exported to Excel for modification

The PDM Property feature does the work to change desired variables when it’s convenient for you and does the job of checking out and checking in the files for you, saving the information to the database.

SOLIDWORKS Update

The SOLIDWORKS Update feature allows the PDM Administrator to update and change features on SOLIDWORKS files after a version upgrade, preventing end-users from checking out and saving files in a PDM Professional vault to the latest release.

Special Features:

• Open all sheets or configurations
• Restart SOLIDWORKS for improved performance
• Set Document Property Units
• Change Sheet Formats
• Choose to overwrite existing or create new version of files
• Update properties to new values

Using this feature allows the files in a vault to be updated, without worrying if a user has the correct permissions to save a file.

SOLIDWORKS Property

The SOLIDWORKS Property feature allows a user to easily scan SOLIDWORKS files and discover all custom or configuration-specific properties for easy reporting and modification.

Special Features:

• Multiple file export types available
• Easily delete all old properties to be replaced
• Ability to delete specific properties on certain file types

This feature will give users to make changes to custom properties in an easy-to-understand format that can assist in standardizing your company’s data.

Reference

The Reference Feature allows SOLIDWORKS to dynamically search through the PDM vault for any missing references when opening files.

Search Result Options:

• Return First Found Item
• Return List of Items (prompt user)
• Return List when Multiple Items Found (prompt user)

This features provides a seamless method to deal with missing components when files have been brought into the vault with reference issues.

Sync

The PDM Sync feature provides scheduled caching of folders in PDM. Multiple “Get Latest” methods are available.

Get Latest Methods:

• Updated Document Only
• All References (Referenced Version)
• All References (Missing Only)
• All Refences (Latest Version)

This feature allows administrators the ability to ensure that client systems, including unattended task hosts, always have the last version of files cached, without the user needing log in or out of PDM

Enterprise Metadata Utility (EMU)

The TriMech Enterprise Metadata Utility, known as the EMU, allows PDM Administrators the ability to set up features to update and extract data from PDM and other systems such as ERP/MRP software via multiple methods from direct into a database to APIs. These operations can be done via workflow transitions, right mouse clicks, listening to a folder, or buttons on a data card; whatever fits your business needs.

The feature has several components to meet the client’s need. The Meta Data function is a way to take data card information and put it into a new item in another system, while Sync gives you a bi-directional communication between the SQL of PDM and another software. The BOM function allows PDM Bill of Materials (BOMs) to be exported in generic formats such as XML, CSV, and TXT files. You can choose to have them exported into one or many files, based on the needs of your system

  • Choose if you want full or indented structure and if you want “as built” or “latest versions” of components

• Ability to send job individually, automatically, or in batches
• Test out options locally without the PDM interface prior to pushing into vault

With the EMU feature inside the Power Suite Professional clients can share data between systems, reducing the time required by personnel to input data and reduce input errors. TriMech can also create scripts to adjust the functionality of the EMU to meet a client’s needs.
